Master Key Experience Week 5: No Opinions, Please

Sooo, it’s been a pretty quiet week around here.

One of our assignments this week was to have no opinions. I didn’t think it would be that hard of an assignment because I don’t see myself as an opinionated person any longer. I was wrong.

Webster’s definition of opinion: a belief, judgment, or way of thinking about something : what someone thinks about a particular thing.

I realized opinions can be both positive and negative. I think I was only counting the negative ones before. So, this week I am the observer (when I haven’t forgotten that I’m not to give my opinion). What I have observed is that life is more peaceful without my opinionated narration. I’d call that a win.

Sweet dreams!

  1. Your blog made me laugh and smile. It is true. It’s only when we learn how to shut off our own opinions and those of others that we come to experience the magic of silence.
